Local Seattle-based startup, Som-Num, is an up-and-coming tech company specializing in Bluetooth-enabled mattresses that allow tired people the ability to design their perfect night of rest. The mattresses adjust factors such as firmness, temperature, and shape to meet the needs of the user. This is all possible through a simple yet intuitive mobile app that connects to the Som-Num mattress.
Latin for "sleep," Som-Num needed a solid brand identity led foremost by a recognizable and smart logo suitable for a wide variety of mediums from the mattresses themselves to digital output. After several iterations, we determined that a monotype-based solution was best as the "S" + "N" forms a visually-pleasing shape that alludes to the insides of a mattress. This is purely a conceptual project.
